When Diane Kittle aka Dee was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2008, she could no longer work as a baker being exposed to gluten. Seeing the lack of gluten free options at that time, Dee saw the potential and created a dedicated gluten free and allergen friendly bakery to give herself and others safe and delicious options. Dee was the first on the east coast to open such a bakery, pioneering the world of gluten free and allergen friendly food. She opened her little cottage bakery in 2008. Dee's product recognition grew with the partnerships established through local businesses throughout the state of Connecticut. Dee has since expanded by moving to a larger facility in 2017.
We strive to ensure that each ingredient we put into our products is of the highest quality and more importantly, safe to our customers. All of our ingredients are non-GMO (with the exception of fondant) and certified gluten free in addition to a majority of ingredients being organic as well. No matter the product, we always have an ingredient list available to our customers.
At Dee's we want to make sure everyone can be included. We offer various baked goods that cater to people with Celiac Disease, Crohn's/Colitis, IBD, Autism and many different allergies. We love seeing the look on a kid's face when they finally come into a bakery where they can choose anything they want!
Our bakers begin baking at 1:00 am and continue throughout the day to bring our customers only the best quality baked goods. Employees at Dee's love working with our customers to make sure they get a delicious, special treat that is also safe! Working at Dee's is like being part of a big, happy family and we strive to make sure our customers feel that same love.
