Dee’s One Smart Cookie is a bakery dedicated to creating fresh baked goods for people living with sensitivities to wheat, gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts and many other food allergens. Dee opened the doors of her gluten-free, dairy-free bakery in Glastonbury, Connecticut, November 4, 2008.
Diane, “Dee”, Kittle was an accomplished pastry chef and sugar artist when she was diagnosed with celiac disease, a severe auto-immune reaction to gluten. Realizing that she could no longer work in conventional pastry arts, she took on the task of developing a repertoire of delicious gluten and dairy free recipes. In the process, she learned from her “tasters” that other allergens were affecting their lives. She emerged from her kitchen ready to share her work with the gluten/dairy/allergen free community.
Yum! I finally got a chance to come here and I thought this was a great little place! I came here on a Wednesday, which is their egg-free day. I had an egg-free chocolate chip whoopie pie and it was delicious.
